Angeline M. Ruplinger

Angeline M. Ruplinger, nee Schladweiler, of West Bend, died on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at The Kathy Hospice at the age of 91 years. She was born December 20, 1931, in the Town of Farmington to the late Edward and Maria (nee Berres) Schladweiler. On December 29, 1951, she was united in marriage to Richard P. Ruplinger at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Richard predeceased. For many years, Angeline worked at Amity Leather Products, retiring in the mid-1990s. She was a charter member of St. Frances Cabrini Parish, where she spent many hours working on quilts of other parish ladies. Her many hobbies and pastimes included baking, cooking, canning, sewing, gardening, and, above all else, being a doting grandma and great-grandma. Survivors include two children, Edward of West Bend and Sandy (Karl) Becker of West Bend; three grandchildren, Karie (Andy) Kahrs, Kellie (Chad) Marquardt and Stacy Becker; four great-grandchildren: Kaden and Kylie Kahrs and Mason Sebeny and Landon Becker; two sisters-in-law, Carol Ruplinger of West Bend and Nancy Ruplinger of West Bend; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 18 at 1 p.m. at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will be at a later date in Holy Angels Cemetery. Visitation will be at church Monday from 11 a.m. until 12:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Frances Cabrini Parish, Kathy Hospice or the charity of the donor’s choice are appreciated. Marvin E. Heimermann

Marvin E. Heimermann

Marvin E. Heimermann, 89, of Fond du Lac, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 8, 2023, at Woodlands Senior Living with his loving family gathered around him. He was born on September 4, 1934, in the Town of Calumet, the son of Clement and Lena (Doern) Heimermann. Marvin served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1956. He was a sanitary engineer, operating his own trucks, and was the owner/operator of Rogersville Tavern during which Marvin gained many new friends. Marvin enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and golfing.  Survivors include his children, his beloved friend, his grandchildren, his great grandchildren, his sister, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.  Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, a son, a brother and a sister.  Visitation for Marvin will be Wednesday, December 13, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Twohig Funeral Home, 305 Fond du Lac Ave, Fond du Lac.  A funeral service will follow Wednesday, December 13, at 12 p.m. at the Twohig Funeral Home, Fond du Lac. Lyle Kent Hundertmark

Lyle Kent Hundertmark, age 87 of Fond du Lac, went to his heavenly home, Saturday December 2, 2023.  He was born on March 4, 1936, son of the late Russell and Sylvia (Schaumberg) Hundertmark.  On November 9, 1957, he married Alice Mary Whitty at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Eden.  Lyle farmed his whole life, in the Town of Eden.  He also operated a cattle-hauling business for many years.  In addition, he was a Pioneer Seed Dealer.  Spending time with family, including 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, gave him great joy.  Fishing, telling jokes and visiting neighbors and friends, filled his spare time.  Skipper was his treasured companion.   Those left behind to cherish his memories are his wife, Alice, of 66 years; his 5 children, Dennis Hundertmark of Byron, Alan (Lori) Hundertmark of Eden, Joe (Julie) Hundertmark of Eden, Kevin (Kelley) Hundertmark of Byron, and Scott (Kirsten) Hundertmark of Elderidge, Iowa; brothers to Lyle, Donald, David and Richie Miller; grandchildren, Joshua (Crystal), Jeremy, Amy (Matt) Baumhardt, Brittany (Justin) Frisque, Quinn (Nicole), Reid (Christy), Toni (fiance’ Zac), Clay (special friend Lydia), Kayla, Amber, Austin (special friend Jennifer),  
Nick (special friend Toni), Samantha (Steve) Schonscheck, Soren, Chloe; and great-grandchildren, Dylan, Zoey, Brayson, Shaley, Noah, Jonah, Micah, Dawson, Liana, Mya, Gracie, Strenley.   Preceding him in death were his parents, Russel and Sylvia Hundertmark; his brothers, Wayne Hundertmark and Ken (Patrica) Hundertmark; his sister-in-law, Patricia Hundertmark; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Laus and Francis Whitty; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jim & Margaret Whitty and Wilbur & Darlene Whitty; and his grandson, Drew Hundertmark.  A private family service will be held at Shepherd of the Hills on Sunday,

Margaret Ella Krohn

   Margaret Ella Krohn, 98, of Iron Ridge, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2023, at the Gardens of Hartford in Hartford.   Margaret was born the daughter of Paul and Mabel (Wittchow) Uttech on November 29, 1925, in Lebanon.   She was united in marriage to Ewald Krohn on August 20, 1949, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lebanon.   Margaret was a faithful member of St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Iron Ridge.    Margaret farmed for many years with her husband, Ewald, in the Town of Herman.   She was a member of the Oak Grove Homemakers Club. Margaret was a very talented seamstress and enjoyed sewing and embroidering. She took pride in her veggie gardens and enjoyed gardening in her colorful flowers. Margaret looked forward to spending time with her family and enjoyed baking and cooking for them.    Margaret is survived by her children, Norma Bell (significant other Harris Cotter) of Theresa, Howard (Barb) Krohn of Iron Ridge, Linda (Richard) Zarling of West Bend, Joyce (Mark) Scharpf of Rubicon, Victor (Kendy) Krohn of Iron Ridge, Harvey Krohn of Slinger, Carol (Dennis) Justman of Boulder Junction, and Curtis (Carrie) Krohn of Neosho; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; sister, Eileen Gentz of Beaver Dam; and one sister-in-law, Claudia Krohn of Tucson, AZ. Margaret is further survived by many other dear relatives and friends.    Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ewald; her sister in infancy; and brothers, Raymond, Elmer, Melvin, and Floyd.   Funeral services for Margaret were held on Monday, Dec. 11, at 1 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Iron Ridge with Rev. Larry Mose officiating. A visitation for Margaret was held on Monday, Dec. 11, at church from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Interment followed the service at St. Matthew’s Cemetery in Iron Ridge.   The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Gardens of Hartford and at St. Croix Hospice for the compassionate care they showed their mother.   Memorials may be directed to St. Matthew's Ev. Richard John Ketter

Richard John Ketter

Richard “Rick” John Ketter, 75, of Ripon, went to his heavenly home on December 5, 2023 at home. He was born April 12, 1948 in Fond du Lac, the son of James and Marjorie (Steinacker) Ketter of Campbellsport. He graduated from Campbellsport High School in 1966 and went on to earn an accounting degree from UW-Whitewater in 1970. After graduation, he moved to Ripon and began a 31-year career at Alliance Laundry (Speed Queen). In 1971, he married Julie Klima at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. In 2001, Rick joined the Ripon Area School District to administer the 21st Century Community Learning Center grant that established the BRAVE program for the district. While serving in that capacity, he returned to UW-Whitewater and received a Master’s Degree in School Business Management. In 2005, he became the Business Manager for the Ripon School District, retiring from there in June, 2014. Rick was a very community-minded person and served on many boards and organizations. For over 25 years, he volunteered with the Junior Bowling Program in Ripon. He often took on leadership positions in his many volunteer groups, some of which were: Ripon Jaycees, United Way, Diverse Options, Early Bird Kiwanis, The East Central Benefit Tractor Cruise, and the Golden Rule Credit Union. He enjoyed working with people and they enjoyed working with him. He was always willing to listen and come to solutions that were beneficial to the majority. He was a faithful member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church (St. Wenceslaus) for 51 years where he served as an usher, was a CCD instructor and a member of the Parish Leadership Team, the Finance Committee and the Knights of Columbus. Rick was a very special husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He led a life of quiet service and caring that made significant differences in the lives of many. Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 52 years, Julie; daughter, Billie (Christian) Muñoz of Neenah; son, Michael Ketter of Ripon; grandchildren, Nesto and Viviana Muñoz of Neenah; brother, Kenneth (Margie) Ketter of Fond du Lac; sister, Mary Jo Ketter of Safety Harbor, FL. Also surviving are his in-laws, Sandy Ilk of Oshkosh, Tim (Mary) Klima of Fond du Lac, Tony (Kathy) Klima of Hancock, and many other relatives, godchildren, and friends. Preceding him in death are his parents, James (1964) and Marjorie (2013) Ketter; his father and mother-in-law, Thomas and Vivian Klima; brother-in-law, James Stoffel; godson and nephew, Jim (Jimmer) Stoffel; and niece, Lindsey Klima. Visitation for Rick will take place from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church 228 E. Blossom St., Ripon, WI 54971. A Memorial Mass for Rick will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 12, 2023. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, with Rev. Robert A. Fictum officiating. LaVern M. Pieper

   LaV­ern M. Pieper, 85, of Bur­nett passed away on Thurs­day, Nov. 30, 2023.   LaV­ern was born on July 12, 1938, the son of Ervin and Leona (Woock) Pieper. He at­tended school in Bur­nett and also Hori­con High School.    On April 24, 1965, he was mar­ried to Ruth A. Binder at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Bur­nett.   LaV­ern was an ac­tive mem­ber of the Bur­nett Fire De­part­ment since 1956 and had served as Trea­surer and Cap­tain of the Mack Water Tanker. He was a mem­ber of the Dodge County An­tique Power Club and en­joyed help­ing with his skid steer.   LaV­ern was bap­tized and con­firmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Bur­nett, where he also had served as Trustee. He was a life­time farmer and en­joyed mak­ing hay and help­ing any­one he could. LaV­ern also loved going to watch his grand­chil­dren par­tic­i­pate in their sport­ing events.   LaV­ern will be deeply missed by his wife of 58 years, Ruth; his daugh­ter, Cyn­thia Pieper; and his son, Clint (Tr­isha) Pieper; his grand­chil­dren, Caitlin and Cody Pieper; his brother, Mer­lin Pieper; and his sis­ter, Jan­ice Pieper; niece, Pa­tri­cia (Andy) and nephew, Robert (Nan); also other rel­a­tives and friends.    He was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents; his mother and fa­ther-in-law; son, Craig, in 1974; and brother-in-law, Vir­gil Binder in 1973.   A vis­i­ta­tion for LaV­ern was held on Mon­day, Dec. 4, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church and on Tues­day, Dec. 5, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. also at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church. A fu­neral ser­vice began at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Tim Sal­lach of­fi­ci­at­ing. Charles D. Ebert

Charles D. Ebert, 68, of Fond du Lac, died on Friday, November 24, 2023, at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh. He was born on September 15, 1955, in West Bend, the son of Harold J. and Iona E. Ullrich Ebert. He served in the United States Army. On June 13, 1981, he married Kay L. Henke, at Faith Ev. Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac. She preceded him in death on July 10, 2022. Charles worked 34 years at Regal Ware in Kewaskum. He was a member of Faith Ev. Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and would make wood crafts for his family and neighbors. He would often help care for children with his wife. He is survived by his siblings, Donna (Don) Lepsch of Campbellsport, Harold (Mary) Ebert Jr. of Kissimmee, FL, Alvin Ebert of Campbellsport, June (Steve) Marquart of Fond du Lac, Thomas Ebert of Juneau, Glenn (Annette) Ebert of Mayville, Mark (Pat) Ebert of Fond du Lac, and Gail (Tim) Zorn of Fond du Lac; sister-in-law, Carol (James) Hounsell of Sauk City; brother-in-law, Dave (Nancy) Cronce; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Elmer Silas Meyer

   Elmer Silas Meyer, 95, passed away on Tues­day, Nov. 21, 2023, with his wife at his side at their home in the Town of Her­man.   Elmer was born on July 29, 1928, to Silas and Hed­wig (Brandt) Meyer in Hill­point. He was bap­tized as an in­fant on Au­gust 12, 1928, and was later con­firmed in his faith as a youth on May 10, 1942, both at St. Paull Lutheran Church in Hill­point. He grad­u­ated from Reeds­burg High School in 1946 and con­tin­ued his ed­u­ca­tion with the Farm Short Course in Madi­son.   Elmer was united in mar­riage to Ir­m­gard Twar­dokus on Sep­tem­ber 12, 1951, at Trin­ity Ev. Lutheran Church in Huils­burg. The cou­ple was blessed with 72 years of mar­riage.   Elmer’s faith was very im­por­tant to him. He was a long­time mem­ber of St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Iron Ridge and served as Chair­man of the Con­gre­ga­tion. He was an elder, served on the church coun­cil, school board, and was in­stru­men­tal in many of the build­ing pro­jects for the church and school prop­er­ties.   Early in life, he farmed with his par­ents in the Town of Wash­ing­ton in Sauk County. He owned and op­er­ated Meyer Con­struc­tion Com­pany of Hart­ford for over 50 years. He was in­volved in his com­mu­nity and was on the Town of Her­man Board as a Su­per­vi­sor, was a Dodge County Su­per­vi­sor, and was a long-time mem­ber and Pres­i­dent of Pom­mer­scher Verein Freis­tadt.   Elmer looked for­ward to fish­ing and snow­mo­bil­ing at his cabin in Price County and hunt­ing for trea­sures at rum­mage sales and auc­tions. Deer hunt­ing near Hill­point was also a fa­vorite pas­time for Elmer and his fam­ily. Elmer truly en­joyed being with peo­ple. He will al­ways be re­mem­bered for his big smile and sto­ry­telling.   Elmer is sur­vived by his wife, Ir­m­gard; chil­dren, Bon­nie (Leo) Bor­den, Irene Bakken, Dawn (Ran­dal) Cut­ter, Court­ney (Amy) Meyer; 16 grand­chil­dren; 25 great-grand­chil­dren; and sis­ter, Elaine Schulz. Elmer is fur­ther sur­vived by many other rel­a­tives and friends.   Elmer was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents; son-in-law, Richard Bakken; and three sis­ters, Viola Lueck, Mar­garet Jensen, Valera Koch, and their hus­bands.   Fu­neral Ser­vices for Elmer took place on Wednes­day, Nov. 29, at 1 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Iron Ridge with Rev. Larry Mose and Rev. Steve Neu­man of­fi­ci­at­ing. A vis­i­ta­tion was held at church on Wednes­day, Nov. 29, from 11 a.m. until the time of ser­vice at 1 p.m. In­ter­ment fol­lowed the ser­vice at St. Matthew’s Ceme­tery in Iron Ridge.    In lieu of flow­ers and plants the fam­ily is re­quest­ing memo­ri­als be di­rected to St. Matthew’s Ev.
