Nancy H. Roate

 

Nancy H. Roate, 79, of Elmwood Park, IL, was born in Fond du Lac, attended Campbellsport High School (1961) and graduated with a BS in Library Science from University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh.

After graduation, Nancy was employed by the City of Chicago as a public librarian. After 25 years of service, she retired and found a job at Frank’s Nursery in Morton Grove to pursue her passion of crafting and needlecraft. After several years, with the closing of Frank’s Nursery, she found employment at McDermott, Will & Emery, Chicago, in the data entry department.

Nancy was a member of First Methodist Church of Franklin Park. She enjoyed volunteering at Loaves and Fishes – making meals for the needy.

Although not married, she celebrated many family holidays with her three nieces, Angela Schneider of Fond du Lac, Erica (Jeremy) Bray-Parker of Wheaton IL, and Tanya (Hal) Bray of Monroe, NY. She had great-nephews and great-nieces who loved her dearly.

Nancy passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 4, 2022. She is survived by her siblings, Lynn (Robert) Schramm of Fond du Lac; Beth (Robert) Hupp of Antioch, IL; and Bert Roate of Eden.

Her family will hold a private service for her at Appleton Memorial Park where she will be buried alongside her parents, Harlow and Mickey Roate. www.Montclair-LucaniaFuneral.com
