Norman E. Martin, 97, formerly of Kewaskum, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023, at Hope Nursing Home in Lomira.

Norman was born on February 22, 1926. He was the son of Eleanora (nee Griepentrog) and Edward Martin. His mother passed away when he was 1½ years old, and he was then raised by his foster parents, Louis and Alma (nee Martin) Benedum.

Norman never married, and at a young age worked for farmers. He took over Louis and Alma’s farm near Kohlsville on Hwy W and Beechnut Dr. and farmed with his foster father, Louis. After Louis passed away, the farm was sold, and he and Alma moved to Kewaskum. Norman worked at Maysteel in Allenton and the Boston Store in West Bend. Norman has been a faithful member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church of Allenton.

Norman is survived by a sister-in-law, Marilyn Martin; nephew, Craig (Kathy) Martin; half siblings, Marion (Robert) Dieringer, Ethel Martin, and Winston (Geri) Martin.

Norman is preceded in death by his parents, Eleanora and Edward Martin and Louis and Alma Benedum; his brother, Wallace Martin; infant sister, Lucille Martin; half siblings, Lyle Martin, Lois (Elroy Kuty) Martin; Leroy Martin and nephew, Mark Martin.

The Martin family would like to thank all the caring nurses and staff at Hope, and especially Amy, who Norman called “The Boss.” Also, a special thank you to St. Croix Hospice for their loving care, Pastor Bode for his many visits with Norman and to John Rigotti at Transporation Connection Inc. for his transport services, which allowed Norman to attend church services.

Visitation: Norman’s family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, May 6, 2023, from 10 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, 6438 Hwy. D, Allenton.

Service: A funeral service in remembrance of Norman will take place at 12 p.m. on Saturday at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, 6438 Hwy. D, Allenton. Burial to follow at the church cemetery.
