Mary Ann Schellinger (nee Fehring) age 84 of Al­len­ton passed away Sat­ur­day, March 5, 2022, at The Kathy Hos­pice in West Bend.  Mary Ann was born Au­gust 27, 1937, in the Town of Her­man, to Wal­ter and Viola (nee Gun­drum) Fehring. She was united in mar­riage to Richard Schellinger on April 25, 1959, at Sa­cred Heart Catholic Church in Al­len­ton. They had a faith­ful and happy mar­riage of 62 years that they shared with their fam­ily and friends. She loved her fam­ily, grand­chil­dren, and great grand­chil­dren. She es­pe­cially loved rock­ing all the ba­bies our fam­ily has been blessed with. She en­joyed host­ing par­ties for fam­ily and friends and al­ways made you feel wel­comed. She was a won­der­ful cook and could eas­ily whip up a meal in no time. She en­joyed play­ing Sheepshead and Skip-Bo with her grand­kids, polka danc­ing, watch­ing birds, gar­den­ing, going up to the cabin with her fam­ily.    Mary Ann is sur­vived by her beloved hus­band, Richard; chil­dren, Ar­leen (Dale) Man­tel, Mike (Cathy), Mark (Cindy), Merle (Cindy), Cheryl (Je­remy) San­dretti, and Allen (Krysta); 15 grand­chil­dren, Jesse (Nicky), Mitch (Melissa), Tracy, Nick (Mary), Shanna (Andy), Troy (Megan), Bran­don, Kaylie (Bran­don), Travis, Jared (Haley), Brett, Maken­zie, Matthew, Ben­nett, and Brae­lyn; 15 great-grand­chil­dren; sib­lings, Earl (Elaine) Fehring and Jerome (Nancy) Fehring; in-laws, Gary (Mary) Schellinger, Joan (Don) Stangl and Susan Holmes.    Den­nis M. Braun, 66, passed away peace­fully on Jan­u­ary 30, 2022.   Den­nis was born on De­cem­ber 16, 1955, the son of Ralph and Rose (Liegl) Braun, in Beaver Dam.   He grad­u­ated from Mayville High School in 1975.   He was united in mar­riage to Cather­ine Matt­son on July 22, 1978, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mayville.   Den­nis was a de­voted paper boy, worked at Pig­gly Wig­gly for sev­eral years and re­tired from Mayville En­gi­neer­ing Com­pany at the end of De­cem­ber 2020, after 43 years as a tool and die maker.   In his spare-time, Den­nis en­joyed re­mod­el­ing their house, hunt­ing, fish­ing and going to the store to talk with peo­ple. Most of all, he loved cook­ing, grilling, and spend­ing time with his fam­ily.   Den­nis is sur­vived by his wife, Cather­ine, and their chil­dren, Sara Braun, Susan Crout, Michael (Kaitlin) Braun and John Braun of Mayville.    Susan H. (Schrauf­nagel) Wiese, 85, of rural Mayville passed away peace­fully on March 4, 2022, at Sage Meadow Mem­ory Care in Fond du Lac with her fam­ily at her side.  Susie was born on Oc­to­ber 18, 1936, in the Town of LeRoy, the old­est daugh­ter of An­drew P. and Mary P. (Feucht) Schrauf­nagel.    She at­tended Lomira Pub­lic Schools. On June 30, 1956, she was united in mar­riage to Don­ald I. Wiese at St. An­drew’s Catholic Church in LeRoy. To­gether, they raised five won­der­ful chil­dren.   Susie was a de­voted wife, mother, grand­mother, great-grand­mother, daugh­ter and sis­ter. She cher­ished the time spent with her fam­ily. She loved to sew, cro­chet and do var­i­ous craft­work. Her large gar­den is where you could find her every spring through fall, can­ning al­most every­thing she grew to feed her fam­ily. She looked for­ward to the fall of each year so she could pick hick­ory nuts, then spent the win­ters crack­ing and pre­serv­ing nuts for many peo­ple. Susie worked at Koll­man’s Ko­rner in LeRoy al­most 40 years as a wait­ress and also bak­ing her fa­mous pies. She loved her chil­dren dearly and al­ways made time to bake some­thing spe­cial for them, even as adults. She en­joyed teach­ing her grand­chil­dren how to gar­den, can and pre­serve, cook, bake and play games. Tak­ing the grand­chil­dren along to local farmer’s mar­kets, sell­ing gar­den pro­duce is some­thing the grand­chil­dren will all re­mem­ber as some of their fa­vorite mem­o­ries of time spent with Grandma and Grandpa. Known as “GG” to her great grand­chil­dren, she adored the lit­tle ones and loved to hug them and lis­ten to their sto­ries. Susie was a woman of great faith, faith she cel­e­brated as a life­long mem­ber of St. An­drew’s Catholic Church in LeRoy. Singing in the church choir filled her with pride. She es­pe­cially loved singing for church fu­ner­als – her last op­por­tu­nity to honor a fel­low church mem­ber. Susie and Don loved to play BINGO to­gether and she con­tin­ued play­ing with friends after Don passed away in 2016 (al­ways hop­ing to win the big one!).   Susie leaves be­hind her five chil­dren, who she was so proud of: Don (Joan) Wiese, Cheryl (Scott) Strook, Glenn (Dar­lene) Wiese, Duane (Sue) Wiese and Char­lene (Aaron) Rauls. She was blessed with 16 won­der­ful grand­chil­dren, Kathryn (Kurt) Hintz, Car­rie (Nick) Tib­bott, Colleen (Andy) Giese, Mi­randa (Dustin) Beck, Aleana (Ryan) Rodig, Cody (Sara) Strook, Mitchel (Faith) Wiese, Dar­ren (Gabrielle) Wiese, Jes­sica (Nick) Palm, We­ston (Genna An­dreae) Wiese, Bran­don (Rachael) Wiese, Aaron (Erica) Wiese, Cay­den (Eliz­a­beth Vang) Wiese, Cassie Immel, Kayla (Tim) Simon and Kyle Immel. See­ing her 23 great-grand­chil­dren al­ways brought a smile to her face. Susie is fur­ther sur­vived by her sib­lings, Ken­neth (Theresa) Schrauf­nagel, Ruth (Wayne) Margelof­sky, Dorothy (Dick) Fink, An­drew (Bon­nie) Schrauf­nagel and Ar­lene Pierog. She is also sur­vived by her in-laws, Dorothy Loest, Ed Wiese, Al­fred (Ar­lene) Wiese, Eu­gene (Mary) Wiese, Chuck (Dar­lene Bint­zler) Wiese, Mar­cella (Mar­vin) Klemp, Mar­garet Brandl and Alvin (Pen­nae) Wiese. She is fur­ther sur­vived by many nieces, nephews, other fam­ily and friends.    In ad­di­tion to her hus­band, par­ents and in-laws, Alvin H. and Alma E.  Shirley A. Haslow (nee Scherger), 86, of Mayville passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 6, 2022, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac with her family by her side.   Shirley was born the daughter of Herman and Bernice (Jaeger) Scherger on May 23, 1935, in Hartford.   She was a 1953 graduate of Hartford High School.   On October 18, 1958, Shirley was united in marriage to Willard A. Haslow at St. John Lutheran Church in Hartford.   She was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mayville.   In her spare time, Shirley enjoyed bowling, quilting, puzzles, and shaking dice. Family was important and she cherished the time spent with them especially her grandchildren. She also volunteered at area blood drives.    Shirley is survived by her husband, Willard of Mayville; her children, Keith (Diane) Lentz of Mayville, Debra (Alan) Sell of Winter, Connie (Steve) Hofman of Horicon, JoAnn (Michael) Engel of Mayville, and James (Rena) Haslow of Horicon; her sister, Barbara Dudec; her nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.   She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Henry Lentz; grandson, Jeremy; sisters, Donna Qualmann, Sandra Scherger, and brothers-in-law, Glen Qualmann, Paul Steinbach, and Ronnie Budahn.   A funeral service for Shirley will take place on Friday, March 11, at 1 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mayville with Pastor Ken Schaub officiating.    Angela T. Schwarze, age 85, of Mayville passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Matthew’s of Horicon with her family by her side.   Angela was born the daughter of Harold and Theresa (Sorgent) Holtz on August 23, 1936. In her spare time, Angela enjoyed doing hook-rugs, puzzles, and made differently crafts. She also loved playing cards with friends, especially sheepshead. She was also an avid bowler.   Angela is survived by her former husband David. Her children- John (Salley) Schwarze, Sr. of Maine, Julie (David) Smith of Iron Ridge, Jeff (Mary) Schwarze of Oklahoma, and Joyce (Dennis) Landsee of Beaver Dam. Her grandchildren- Johnny Jr., Timothy, Toni, Joline, Sarah, Jennifer, Jessica, Jason, Jarrod, Christina, Brad, and Laura. 26 great grandchildren. Her sister Rosie (Ron) Martin of TX.    Thomas Robert Walther, 73, of Eau Claire, passed away on February 26, 2022, at Mayo Hospital in Eau Claire with family members by his side.    Tom was born on August 3, 1948, in Fond Du Lac, the son of Robert and Norma (Lau) Walther. He grew up in Mayville, and was a 1966 graduate of Mayville High School. After high school he attended University of Wisconsin – Platteville.   On August 23, 1969, he married LaVon (Bonnie) Place in Platteville where they lived for the next 1½ years while Tom finished college.   In January 1971, Tom received his Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering. In 1975 Tom earned his Licensure as a Professional Engineer in the states of Iowa and Wisconsin. Upon graduation Tom and Bonnie moved to Iowa where they lived for the next 9½ years while Tom was employed by the Iowa Department of Transportation. During this time he held the positions of Engineer in Training in Ames, Assistant Resident Construction Engineer in Waterloo and Resident Maintenance Engineer in Denison. During this same time period daughter ReNee was born in Ames, IA, in May, 1971 and son Brian was born in Waterloo, IA, in May, 1974.   In the fall of 1980 Tom, Bonnie and the family moved to Eau Claire. Tom served the people of Eau Claire County for the next 28 years as Eau Claire County Highway Commissioner. Following retirement from the county, Tom worked intermittently as an engineer for a number of employers including TEC Design, the Chippewa County Highway Department and Ayres Associates.    Tom’s most passionate activity was service to his profession. He was a charter member of the Student Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) at UW-Platteville in 1967 and then was active in ASCE for the remainder of his life. He served as President of the Northwest Branch in Wisconsin, President of the Wisconsin Section and six years as a national director as well as service on multiple national committees. He was also an official nominee for the position of national president. While in Iowa Tom was also a member of the Iowa Jaycees serving a term as District Director.   Tom was also a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Eau Claire, where he sang in the church choir for nearly 30 years and served as church treasurer and as a member of the Church Council.   Tom enjoyed traveling and visiting historic sites with Bonnie and spending time with his children and grandchildren. In earlier years Tom also enjoyed hunting and fishing under the tutelage of his father.    Tom is survived by his daughter, ReNee (Marc) Hanson of Anoka, MN; son, Brian (Christina) Walther of Chippewa Falls; grandchildren, Bailey Hanson of Coon Rapids, MN, Kiersten Clifford of Eau Claire, Taylor Walther of Eau Claire, Preston Walther (fiancée Madison Lloyd) of Mondovi and Larissa Walther of Mondovi, plus step-granddaughters, Olivia (Kyle) Connelly of Eau Claire and Isabelle Gunderson of Eau Claire. He is also survived by brother, Richard (Patti) Walther of Pompano Beach, FL; brothers-in-law, Milton (Bunnita) Place of Hazel Green and David Place of Fennimore; sisters-in-law, Barbara Hanna of Oregon (WI), Sherri (Larry) Klaas of Stitzer and Diana Place of Merrill. He is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews.    He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Bonnie; parents, Robert and Norma Walther; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Milton (Betty) Place; brothers-in-law, Donovan Place, Curtiss Place and Chester Hanna and sister-in-law, Robin Place;   A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 3, at 1:30 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1804 Highland Avenue, Eau Claire, Wisconsin 54701. Pastor Julie Brenden will officiate the service. Burial will take place immediately following the funeral at Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington. Clark, 99, passed peacefully into God’s hands, surrounded by the love of her family, on February 26, 2022.   A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will take place on March 14, at 12 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mayville with the Rev. Fr. Tom Biersack presiding. Visitation will take place from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service at noon at the church. Inurnment will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Mayville.   Anita Rose Clark (Gruber) was born February 13, 1923, in Knowles, of Leo and Emma (Haller) Gruber.   On July 14, 1945, she married Richard Clark at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in LeRoy.   She attended Mayville High School, Dodge County and Oshkosh State Teachers College. She taught for many years in rural Lomira, and St. Mary’s Catholic School in Mayville.   Anita and Richard co-owned Clark’s Floral in Mayville with Herbert and Leona Clark. Herbert was Richard’s brother.   She was a lifetime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mayville, where she also served on the cemetery committee for many years.   She is survived by her children, Kenneth (Luann Schaldenbrand) of Naples, FL, Keith (Dr. Jean Schoeni) of Lake Mills, WI, Karen (Dr. Mark) Storm of Manitou Springs, CO, and Kathryn (Richard) Metke of Mayville. Maureen R. Sayles, 82 of Horicon, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on the 23rd of February, 2022, at Angel's Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc.    Maureen was born on November 5, 1939, to Edgar and Dorothy (Rahn) Glander at home in Neda. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Horicon, where she was also a member.   She married Wayne F. Sayles on April 25, 1964, in Waukegan, IL. Together they had seven children.   Maureen was a woman of exceptional faith, evident in her extreme patience as a mother and grandmother.  After her husband passed away in 1983, she single-handedly raised all seven children, who were all school-age. She was kind, compassionate and selfless. She loved to cook, garden and spend time with her family. Anyone who knew Maureen loved her.   Maureen worked at the Village Flower Shop in Kekoskee for 25 years, retiring in 2006.    She is survived by four sons, Kevin Sayles (Bernice Valentin) of Waupun, Kurt and Roxanne Sayles of Horicon, Korey Sayles (Melissa Worthington) of Horicon and Klint and Melissa Sayles of Horicon; two daughters, Kelly Sayles (Jon Janiak) of Waupun and Kristin and Jim Young of Brownsville; 17 grandchildren, Jordan, Jerad, Kaeden, Andrea, Mitchell, Kale, Ashley, Nicole, Heather, Katie, David, Sarah, Alexis, Amanda, Layne, Madilyse, Mariah, Morgan and Faith; and 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Arlon (Doris) Glander of Burnsville, MN; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.    She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne (1983); and son, Kerry (2010); son-in-law, Michael Kwakkel (2019); and brother, Stuart Glander (2021).   A visitation was held at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Horicon on Saturday, Feb. 26, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. Rev.    Glenn H. Zahn, 89, of Mayville, passed away on Sun­day, Feb. 20, 2022, at Sharon S. Richard­son Com­mu­nity Hos­pice in She­boy­gan Falls, Wis­con­sin.   Glenn was born the son of Harold and Amelda (Prib­now) Zahn on March 15, 1932, in the Town of Theresa. He at­tended the West­line school in Town of Theresa, Williamstown.   He was united in mar­riage to Eli­nor Oech­sner on April 23, 1955, in LeRoy.   Glenn worked hard his whole life. In his early years, he worked on a milk route, pick­ing up milk cans by local farm­ers. Later he farmed along­side his son, Dean, in Williamstown.   Glenn was a faith­ful mem­ber of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville where he served his church as a past long­time elder and usher. He also helped with the build­ing of St. John’s Church and School. Glenn also vol­un­teered for the Kekos­kee Fire De­part­ment.   In his spare time, Glenn and his wife en­joyed trav­el­ing. Glenn was a kind and gen­tle man who was al­ways there to lend a hand. His smile and laugh were con­ta­gious.
