Norma G. Gerth


   Norma G. Gerth, 91, of Horicon, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023, at Marvin’s Manor in Horicon.    Norma was born to Erhard and Gertrude (Koepsell) Zimmerman on July 9, 1932, in Mayville. Norma attended school in Mayville.   She was united in marriage to Horst Gerth on July 14, 1951, at the River Church in Theresa.   Norma was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Browns Corner.    Together with her husband, Norma farmed all her life. She loved gardening and raising her nine children. Norma’s family was very dear to her, and she always looked forward to their visits. She was a great storyteller and will always be remembered for her elaborate stories.    Norma is survived by her children, Carl (Gail) Gerth of Iron Ridge, Dennis (April) Gerth of Iron Ridge, Roland Gerth of Horicon, Chris (David) Schumacher of Fox Lake, Ernie (Phyllis ) Gerth of Horicon, Wayne (Sherry) Gerth of Iron Ridge, Faith (Bill) Stroede of Mayville, and Monica (Dave) Roskopf of Iron Ridge; 21 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; siblings, Norbert (Carla) Zimmerman of Mayville and Carolyn (Ron) Krentz of Hartford. Norma is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.    Norma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Horst, in 2016; daughter, Linda, in 2020; and sisters, Lorraine and LaVerne.    Funeral services for Norma will take place on Friday, Oct. 27, at 12 p.m. at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Browns Corner with Rev. Allen Behnke officiating. A visitation for Norma will take place at church on Friday, Oct. 27, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m. Interment will follow the service at St. John’s Cemetery.   The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Marvin’s Manor for the wonderful care they provided to Norma in the two years she lived there.    Memorials in honor of Norma may be directed to St. John’s Ev. James J. Bauer

James J. Bauer


   James J. Bauer, 75, of Lomira, passed away on Tues­day, Oct. 17, 2023, at Froedtert Hos­pi­tal in Mil­wau­kee.   James was born on July 28, 1948, in Fond du Lac to Ken­neth and Alice (Krapfl) Bauer.   He grad­u­ated from Mayville High School in 1966.   On Au­gust 4, 1973, James was united in mar­riage to Renee Crist at St. An­drew’s Catholic Church in LeRoy.   James was a mem­ber of St. An­drew’s and of the Catholic Knights.    James proudly served his coun­try in the United States Air Force and was sta­tioned in Ger­many. He was a mem­ber of the Lomira Amer­i­can Le­gion Post #347. James worked for many years in the Mil­wau­kee area as a mason. James was a hard worker and was al­ways will­ing to lend a hand.   James was an avid hunter of varmint busters. He en­joyed hunt­ing and fish­ing and was a mem­ber of the Mayville Gun Club and Hori­con Marsh Bow­man Club. He had a pas­sion for mo­tor­cy­cles and loved going for rides.    James put his fam­ily first and would do any­thing for them. He lived for his grand­kids and was so in­cred­i­bly proud of them.    James is sur­vived by his wife, Renee; chil­dren, Stacey (Brad) Bauer, Jason “Goobs" (Michelle) Bauer, Ryan (Tracy) Bauer, Richard (Renee) Bauer, and Stephanie (Erik) Gassner; five grand­chil­dren, Jacob, Dylan, Vance, Kennedi, and Hay­den; sib­lings, Kath­leen “Kitty” (Steve) Klein, Diane (Mike) Vollmer, Kris (John) But­zlaff, Dou­glas “Duff” (Eliz­a­beth) Bauer, Heidi (Ross) Re­ber­nick, Mark Bauer, and Gre­gory (Laura) Bauer. James is fur­ther sur­vived by nieces, nephews, other rel­a­tives, and many friends.    James was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents; sis­ter, Debra; and two nephews, Tony and Greg Vollmer.    A Mass of Chris­t­ian Bur­ial for James took place on Wednes­day, Oct. 25, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at St. An­drew’s Catholic Church in LeRoy with Rev. Fr. Joe Do­minic and Rev. Fr. Tom Bier­sack pre­sid­ing. Vis­i­ta­tion for James was held at the church on Wednes­day, Oct. 25, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of ser­vice at 1 p.m. Grave­side mil­i­tary hon­ors were con­ducted by the Lomira Amer­i­can Le­gion Post # 347.    Koepsell Fu­neral Home in Mayville served the fam­ily. www.​Koepsellfh.​com

William J. Seefeld

William J. Seefeld


William J. Seefeld, 85, of Campbellsport passed away peacefully at SSM St. Agnes Hospital on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, with his brother, Don at his side. He was born May 26, 1938, in Campbellsport, the son of Henry and Mae (St. Mary) Seefeld. Bill attended Glen Valley Grade School in rural Campbellsport and was a 1956 graduate of Campbellsport High School. He received his associate degree from UW Madison, and in 1963 graduated from UW Oshkosh. He started his career as student teacher in Madison followed by teaching Social Studies at Oconto High School. Bill coached Drama Club and also directed school plays. His teaching career lasted 33 years at Oconto High School, retiring in 1998, and moving back to his home in Campbellsport. While living in Oconto, Bill golfed for enjoyment and competition. He was part of the same golf “foursome” for 30 years and was also part of a traveling foursome on weekends. Bill enjoyed stamp collecting, old movies and radio stations, casino gambling from time to time, bowling and spending many hours playing scot and sheepshead with local Senior Citizen groups. Along with teaching, Bill’s strongest involvement was his faith after accepting Jesus in fifth grade. He is a member of Trinity Methodist Church in Lomira. Bill was involved with his church, serving his church in many different capacities and he still attended most Sunday services. Bill is survived by his brother Don; many cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister. A Memorial Service will be held at Trinity Methodist Church, 300 Church St., Lomira on Wednesday, October 25, with visitation from 4 p.m. until time of Service at 6 p.m. Private burial at Union Cemetery, Campbellsport will be at a later date.    Car­olyn Math­ews, 73, of Mayville, passed away peace­fully on October 18, 2023, at Cross­roads Care Cen­ter in Mayville.    Car­olyn was born the daugh­ter of Harold and Ber­nice (Toell­ner) Finke on No­vem­ber 30, 1949, in Hus­tis­ford. She grad­u­ated from Mayville High School in 1968. Car­olyn was united in mar­riage to Robert Math­ews at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville on June 18, 1977.   She was a mem­ber of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville and for­mer mem­ber of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church where she taught Sun­day school.   Car­olyn was em­ployed for many years at TAB. She also was a bar­tender and did the trap­shoot­ing stats for Field & Stream sports­man’s club for 23 years. Car­olyn was a mem­ber of the Mayville Amer­i­can Le­gion Aux­il­iary.   Car­olyn was a peo­ple per­son who en­joyed being in the com­pany of oth­ers. Car­olyn trea­sured the time she spent with her fam­ily, es­pe­cially her grand­chil­dren. She loved to spoil them and watch them grow. Car­olyn learned to live life to the fullest after hav­ing polio at age 5. She had many hob­bies and some of which in­cluded: read­ing books, cro­chet­ing, and watch­ing Hall­mark Movies on the Hall­mark Chan­nel. Car­olyn could also be found watch­ing the Green Bay Pack­ers, Mil­wau­kee Brew­ers, Wis­con­sin Bad­gers, or NASCAR races.    Car­olyn will al­ways be re­mem­bered by her daugh­ter, Mindy (Tony) Bon­neau; grand­chil­dren, Kayla, Erin, and Austin. She is fur­ther sur­vived by other rel­a­tives and many dear friends.   Those loved ones with the Lord and Car­olyn in­clude her par­ents; her hus­band, Robert; brother, Ronald; and nephew, John.   Fu­neral ser­vices for Car­olyn were held on Sat­ur­day, Oct. 21, at 1 p.m. at the Koepsell Fu­neral Home in Mayville with Rev. James Mall­mann of­fi­ci­at­ing. Beverly J. Dickmann


Beverly J. (Guell) Dickmann, 70, of Campbellsport was called home on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at home with her loved ones. She was born on July 1, 1953, in Fond du Lac to Allen and Margaret (Scannell) Guell. Bev married Thomas Dickmann on May 17, 1997, at St. Matthew’s Church, Campbellsport. Bev was the dental office manager for Dr. John Pesch, Sr. for 14 years and Dr. Dean Uelmen for 34 years. Bev was a devoted wife, mom, and grandma. Two of the best days of her life were when she became a grandma. She loved nothing more than going to their activities, watching movies together, having sleepovers, and playing rummy 500 (for money of course). She was an avid reader and proud member of the book club “Chick Lits” founded by her granddaughter, Ava. Bev enjoyed traveling with her family anywhere warm and sunny, but especially loved Naples, FL and tropical vacations. She also looked forward to her family’s annual trip to the Dells and was always the first one packed and ready to go. Bev cherished her monthly girl’s night out and enjoyed her brandy and cokes. She was a devoted George Strait and Reba fan, going to several of their concerts. Every Spring, she took great pride in picking out and planting her flowers, and everyone looked forward to “pool days” at her house. She loved planning and hosting holidays, especially Christmas, and was known to celebrate the whole month of July for her birthday. Bev was a strong, courageous, brave, independent woman and touched the hearts of everyone she knew. Survivors include her husband, Tom; daughter, Amy (Bill) Lackas; son, Michael Feuerhammer; grandchildren, Hayden and Ava Lackas; stepchildren, Dennis (Maria) Dickmann, Leslie Dickmann and Eve Dickmann; sisters, Barbara Ketter, Betty (Gene) Heltemes, and Brenda (John) Klotz; brothers, Bill (special friend Jo) Guell and Bob (Elaine) Guell; brother-in-law, Allen Dickmann; many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends. Bev was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Margaret; brother-in-law, Phil Ketter; sister-in-law, Maureen Dickmann; and nephew, Nick Klotz, Visitation will be Friday, October 20, from 1 p.m. until time of Mass at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 406 E. Main St., Campbellsport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 20, at 4 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. Rev. Mark Jones will officiate, and entombment will be in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum at Ledgeview Memorial Park, Fond du Lac. Gladys E. Mildbrandt


   Gladys E. Mildbrandt, 97, of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 13, 2023, at the Christian Home in Waupun.    Gladys was born on March 20, 1926, to Oscar and Lucy (Schellpfeffer) Puls in the Town of Hubbard.   Gladys was a graduate of Horicon High School.   On January 18, 1947, she was united in marriage to Warren Mildbrandt at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville, where she was also a faithful member.    Gladys was creative and artistic. She enjoyed spending time sewing, as well as gardening. She also looked forward to travelling with Warren on bus trips. Gladys treasured the time she was able to spend with her family and will be greatly missed.    Gladys is survived by her daughter, Diane (Yogin) Mehta; daughter-in-law, Sue Mildbrandt; four grandchildren, Chad (Jennifer) Mildbrandt, Kevin (Martha) Mildbrandt, Kristi (Keith) Martin, and Christopher Mehta; her nine great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; brother, Wilbert (Ardis) Puls; sister, Janice Fischer; and one sister-in-law, Norma Puls. Gladys is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.    Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Warren; two sons, Dennis and Dale; and two brothers, Kenny and Harvey.    Funeral services for Gladys will be held on Sunday, Oct. 22, at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s Ev. Barbara A. Wolc


   Barbara A. Wolc, 82, of Mayville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2023.    Barbara was born the daughter of Lawrence and Elda (Seering) Leibenow on June 3, 1941, in Beaver Dam.   She was united in marriage to Richard Frank Wolc on April 27, 1963, at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville where Barbara was also a faithful, lifelong member.   Barbara was a graduate of Mayville High School. She had a love for helping people and worked at various places in Mayville including Purity Cheese, Old Fashioned Cheese, and later retired from Piggly Wiggly.   Barbara enjoyed trapshooting, bowling, snowmobiling, and taking motorcycle trips with her husband and other family members and friends. She always had a kind word for others and treasured the time she spent with her family.    Barbara will be missed by her husband, Frank; children, Tamra Wolc, Kimberly (Dr. William) Haraden, and Troy Wolc; grandchildren, Becky, Ashley, Michelle, Brandon, Jayce, and Alexana; great-grandchildren, Rylan, Aleigha, Alana, Landon, Makoto, Korbin, Xavien, Raiden, Iana, and Brielle; her siblings, Larry (Vicki) Leibenow, Karen Leibenow, Patricia Kutz, and Kenny (Malea) Leibenow. Barbara is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.    Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; son, Scott; daughter, Lisa; son-in-law, Senator Rick Gudex; and brother, Rick.   A graveside memorial service for Barbara will take place on Saturday, Oct. 21, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Cemetery in Mayville with Rev.
