Charles L. Weiland

Charles L. Weiland Charles L. Weiland

Charles “Charlie” L. Weiland, 71, went home to his Lord Jesus on Wednesday, September 14, 2022. He left this side of heaven surrounded by his beloved wife and three children.

Charlie was born in West Bend on January 6, 1951, the son of Norbert and Mildred (Wiedmeyer) Weiland. Charlie grew up on a dairy farm in the rural Campbellsport (St. Killian) area where he graduated from Campbellsport High School and attended MPTC. On Sept 16, 1972, he married his high school sweetheart, Mary Rita “Beata” Floyd, at St. Michael’s Church in Dotyville. They started their married life and raised their family in Appleton, where Charlie was an accountant at Nash Finch for 24 years. After transferring to Eagan, MN, for seven years, Charlie returned to Fond du Lac to finish his career at Summit Automotive, retiring in 2018.

Charlie was a humble servant and devoted family man. He would do anything for anyone at any time. As an incredible husband, father and grandad, Char – lie was a patient teacher, gentle encourager and Beata’s best friend. He was generous with his love and time and everyone who met him recognized his kind spirit. He had a deep love for working with his hands, being outdoors, laughing with his friends and family, and road tripping in a “woody” station wagon. As a “jack of all trades” Charlie was an amazing woodworker, lumberjack, dishwasher, map reader, maintenance man and number cruncher. He shared his deep and honest faith in Jesus with those around him through his giving heart, volunteering and acts of service. While we can’t fill the “Charlie sized” hole in our hearts, we can strive to follow his example of Christ-like love and service for others. He will be forever missed.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Beata; children, Nathan (Lisa) Weiland, Betsy (Ryan) Beach, and Anney (Sam) Fahrenholz; grandchildren, Rachel Weiland, Olivia and Jonah Beach, and Lucy, Jack and Max Fahrenholz; mother, Millie; siblings, Steve (Jean), Mary Kay (Jack) Martin, Jim (Sue), and Gary (Michelle); sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Patty Wirtz, Mike (Barb) Floyd, Stan (Kristie) Floyd, Nancy Marie (Gary) Gellings, Greg (Peggy) Floyd, Annie (Pete) Andrew, John (Barb) Floyd, Rich (Jeanne) Floyd, and Carolyn (Jack) Schickert; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
